odd trivia about Malibu Barbie…..
Why Malibu Barbie?
The name came about when I was choosing my very first ever fantasy sports team [a NASCAR team at that!] for Sandbox. I was stumped, never having done this and wanting the ‘perfect name’. Just then my three girls came around the corner pushing a hot pink Barbie car loaded with scantily clad dolls headed for the ‘beach’. Barbie was a natural for me, being a Barbara in real life, and I had just moved from southern California, so the light bulb went off and ‘Malibu Barbie’ was born. Now I pretty much use it everywhere. I’ve also added P’Cola Barbie here and there, in reference to living in Pensacola.
